Ghost Care: Western Australia's Power Trio Prepares to Unveil New Music and New Energy in 2025

Ghost Care, the dynamic power trio hailing from Western Australia, are ready to kick off 2025 with a bang. With new music on the horizon and the exciting addition of Emma Joan as their newest member, Beau Torrance and Luke Del Fante are bringing fresh energy to their already electrifying sound. The band's infectious mix of upbeat, colourful, and heartfelt tracks continues to capture the hearts of fans, and with Emma now part of the Ghost Care family, there’s a new spark fuelling their creative fire.

Ghost Care’s journey has been nothing short of impressive. After making a significant splash at BIGSOUND in 2022, they’ve landed a string of incredible support slots over the past year, opening for notable acts such as Teenage Dads, San Cisco, Sly Withers, The Vanns, and South Summit. Their live performances have proven that the stage is where they truly come alive, and their 2025 plans involve taking their high-energy set on the road once again, bringing their vibrant sound to more fans across Australia.

In a recent conversation with the band, we dug deep into their creative process, the impact of a new member, and what fans can expect from their upcoming releases.

The Spark That Ignited Their Passion for Music

For Beau Torrance, music has always been a constant presence in his life. Growing up surrounded by instruments—his dad, a guitar maker, filled the house with guitars—Beau was immersed in a world of creativity from a young age. "I was the youngest of four," Beau explains. "My sisters were learning piano, and my brother was learning drums, so there were instruments in every room. I got my first four-track tape recorder when I was 10, and it just clicked for me. I’ve been writing and recording ever since."

Beau’s early musical experiences were shaped by his brother, whose tastes influenced Beau’s own. “My brother has always been a big inspiration. We shared a room growing up, and whatever he listened to, I listened to. I'm just glad he has great taste!”

The Band's Evolution and New Energy

The addition of Emma Joan to the band has been a major shift, adding new energy to their already established sound. “It’s been a fantastic year for us,” Beau shares. “We were on a long drive late last year, and Luke and I were talking about how this year felt like a chapter of change. Adding Emma to the mix was a big part of that change, and it has been a really positive shift. We’re excited to move forward, especially with the music we’ve been working on.

The band’s new direction is also deeply influenced by Beau’s personal transformation. “I’ve been working on changing my thinking patterns, trying to be more thankful and positive. That mindset has really shown up in our music this year,” he says, hinting at the uplifting vibe that listeners can expect from their upcoming tracks.

The Creative Process: Constantly Evolving

For Beau and Luke, the creative process is an ongoing journey. With both of them working full-time as teachers, time for jamming and recording is precious, but their passion for music never wanes. "We’re always writing," Beau reveals. "I’m constantly putting down ideas on my computer or in voice notes. Over the past six months, we’ve written about 25 songs, and we’ve just been picking the ones that fit the vibe for this EP."

When asked about the band's sound, Beau describes it as evolving in new and exciting ways, influenced by the personal growth they've experienced as individuals. “It’s still very much us, but there's a new sense of positivity and openness in the music. The energy is definitely shifting, and I think that’s what’s so exciting for us right now.”

Highlights from the Road:

Ghost Care's journey has seen them perform on some incredible stages, and they’ve had their fair share of memorable moments. Beau recalls the band’s support slot with Spacey Jane in 2023, where they were thrown into the deep end playing to 2000 people on the first night of the tour. "The crowd was electric. It was one of the best shows we’ve ever played. We were just not expecting that many people, and it was such a wild, exciting experience."

Another unforgettable gig came during their launch of the song "Only Friend," when the band sold out a 300-capacity venue in the midst of Covid restrictions. "The restrictions were lifted last-minute, and the venue allowed more people in. We ended up playing to almost 500 people, and it was an absolute vibe. It was one of those shows that really sticks with you."

Looking Ahead

With a new EP on the way, Ghost Care is more motivated than ever. Luke Del Fante shares, “We’ve had a busy few months with a lot of changes, both in and outside of the band, but we’re feeling really good about what’s to come. We’ve had so much fun making this music, and we can’t wait to take it on the road. We’ve got tours lined up, and we’re excited to see where this year takes us.”

When asked about the future, Luke is optimistic: “We’re constantly evolving and trying new things, but we’re still very much focused on putting out music that resonates with our fans. This year feels like it’s going to be huge.”

With their signature upbeat sound, new member Emma Joan, and an EP brimming with fresh energy, Ghost Care is ready to make 2025 their year. Fans can expect a whole new chapter in the band's journey, one filled with positivity, incredible live shows, and music that continues to captivate and inspire.

Stay tuned for more updates from Ghost Care as they prepare to hit the road with new music and a renewed sense of purpose in 2025.
