Ozzy Osbourne to Reunite with Black Sabbath for a Historic Final Show in Birmingham

In an exciting announcement, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that the original members of Black Sabbath will reunite for a one-of-a-kind concert in Birmingham, marking their first performance together in two decades. This monumental event will take place at Villa Park on July 5, 2025, a location that holds significant meaning for the legendary band.

Osbourne shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his deep connection to his hometown. "It's my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born," he said. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever."

The show will feature Ozzy performing a short solo set before joining his fellow bandmates—Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—for a final performance together. The concert, which will be part of the "Back to the Beginning" festival, promises to be an unforgettable event with a stellar lineup of artists, including Metallica, Slayer, Lamb of God, Alice in Chains, and Anthrax.

Black Sabbath, formed in 1968 in Birmingham, went on to become one of the most influential and successful heavy metal bands in history, with over 75 million albums sold worldwide. Fans got a taste of the reunion in 2022 when Osbourne surprised attendees at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games with a brief appearance alongside Iommi.

Although Osbourne had planned to kick off a farewell tour in 2023, he was forced to cancel due to health challenges. In a statement, Osbourne explained that while his voice had recovered, the toll of multiple surgeries and treatments had left him physically weak. "My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak," he shared.

At 76, Osbourne reflected on his desire to perform one last show to express his gratitude to fans. "I would die a happy man if I could do that," he told ‘Rolling Stone’. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, had hinted at the reunion during an interview with the magazine last year, revealing that Ozzy was eager to deliver a heartfelt farewell performance in his hometown.

Tickets for the historic concert will go on sale February 14, with proceeds benefiting various charitable causes. Fans of all ages are expected to flock to Birmingham for what promises to be an unforgettable night celebrating the legacy of one of metal's most iconic bands.
